Lipodissolve is a form of injection lipolysis that reduces the amount of fat in the treated areas. Lipodissolve has two enzyme components, phosphatidylcholine (PC) and deoxycholate (DC) also known as PC/DC. The DC component of Lipodissolve is a bile salt which breaks down fat whereas PC helps in the digestion and drainage of the broken down fats.
During a Lipodissolve treatment no topical anesthetic is needed, however, icing the treatment area for 4-5 minutes prior to injection can reduce patient discomfort. The treatment area will then be injected in various locations for even coverage. Depending on the size, as little as 3-6cc may be injected whereas a larger area such as the stomach may receive 40-60cc. Once injection is complete, most clients are able to resume all normal activities. Lipodissolve is not FDA approved for fat reduction.
Lipodissolve is meant to treat areas with a small amount of fat, such as on the jaw, midsection, double chin, jowls, love handles, inner thighs, and outer thighs (also known as saddlebags). Lipodissolve may also reduce the appearance of cellulite.
These microinjections are intended for body contouring and are not a weight loss solution.
For optimal results, 4-10 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart may be needed to achieve the desired result.
