Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facials

PRP is becoming one of the most sought after treatments that offer exceptional skin rejuvenation effects. Derived naturally from your own blood, this safe and effective treatment option offers numerous benefits to the patient. Platelets are concentrated from your blood then injected back into your skin to promote overall health and wellness while improving your appearance.

How is Skin Rejuvenated with Platelets?

Platelets secrete growth factors, which promote healing in tissues while stimulating the growth of new cells. Found naturally in the blood, injecting them in increased concentrations to target areas allows for the stimulation of new collagen growth, regeneration of tissues and the increase in speed of your own natural healing processes. The results from PRP facials include improved skin tone, tighter and smoother skin and reduced appearance of scarring.

Platelets are found throughout your blood, but by concentrating them for re-injection, you can improve the efficacy of your body’s natural processes. Your PRP cocktail is spread across your face, and then through the use of micro needles, is injected back into your skin during your treatment. The natural chemical components of your PRP then go to work, smoothing your face and tightening wrinkled areas to rejuvenate the treated areas.

Benefits of Using PRP Therapy

PRP therapy is a common technique in cosmetic dermatology, but patients also see numerous benefits for a wide range of complaints. For instance, patients experiencing joint pain, hair loss and other issues can see dramatic improvements with PRP therapy. For skin concerns, you can experience exceptional results in treating large pores, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone or texture, sun damage, acne scars and spider veins. PRP therapy also improves the overall appearance of your skin.

PRP Therapy Results

PRP facials offer gradual results that promote a more natural looking change in your appearance. After three to four weeks following your treatment, you will begin to notice the results, which will improve over time. We recommend that your sessions are spaced one to two months apart, and most patients see the desired results within three to four sessions across six months. You may opt to seek maintenance treatments two or three times a year in order to ensure that your results last. Your overall results will include tighter, firmer skin, softening of lines and pores, reduction of scarring and more even skin tone and texture.

What to Expect from Your PRP Facial Treatment

First, our team will consult with you to determine whether a PRP facial is the right match for your goals. Here, we will discuss the treatment with you and answer all of the questions that you may have about the procedure.

Once you decide that PRP therapy is right for you, a member of our medical team will draw a sample of your blood. We centrifuge the blood to separate the components, discarding the red and white blood cells and keeping only the plasma. This plasma contains platelets and proteins which stimulate the formation of new collagen when injected back into your face.

Before the treatment itself, we will numb your skin for 20 minutes to ensure comfort during the process. We then infuse your skin with hyaluronic acid and phyto-boost in order to ensure that your skin is hydrated and free from pigmentation. When ready, your PRP is spread across the treatment area. Our medical team then uses a micro-needling tool to inject the PRP into areas of your face including your cheeks, forehead and other areas, ensuring that the PRP is able to penetrate deep into the layers of your skin. Micro-needling by itself is sufficient to stimulate the growth of new collagen, but when combined with PRP, the effects are dramatically increased.

If you have more troublesome areas of the skin that require additional treatments, such as smile lines and small wrinkles, we can combine your PRP therapy with Botox or fillers to improve volume.

After your treatment, you may notice minor bruising and superficial pain on your face as a result of the micro-needling process. These symptoms will typically resolve over the next few days.

Results of Your PRP Facial

The results of PRP facials are not instant, and can be seen gradually. In the first few days you will notice tightening of your skin and an overall healthier look that appears more glowing and full.

Results of your PRP facial will last several months, so you may want to maintain your healthier new look with multiple treatments throughout the year. We recommend for initial patients to schedule 4-6 treatments across six months to target trouble areas such as skin damage and scarring.

Advantages of a PRP Facial

There are many advantages of a PRP facial. Not only can this treatment improve collagen levels and elasticity in the skin, but it can also eliminate wrinkles, scars, fine lines, stretch marks and other types of skin concerns. PRP facials are ideal for correcting skin texture and tone problems, leaving you looking fresher and more invigorated.

We perform PRP facials using our Dermapen micro-needling technology which allows for treatment with minimal pain in a shorter amount of time. The skin is stamped with very small needles to promote natural healing and boost collagen production in the skin. Your skin responds to both the micro-needling itself as well as the components of the PRP that are infused into the skin.
